LINDQUIST NAMED PRESIDENT OF GODDARD COLLEGE

The Associated Press

PLAINFIELD -- Jack Lindquist has been named president of Goddard College.

Lindquist, 40, has served as interim president since May. He replaced Victor Loefflath-Ehly.

Lindquist, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., was hired by Goddard as dean of administration early this year.

The innovative liberal arts school has been struggling with finances during the last several years, but enrollment this fall was enough for the college to stay open.

The school has sold parts of its campus and several academic programs. It also successfully appealed a threat to lift its academic accreditation.
