GODDARD, FACULTY UNION OFFICIALS TO TALK
PLAINFIELD -- Officials at Goddard College and representatives of the faculty union will reopen talks soon, but Beverly Ryan, executive director of the Vermont Federation of Teachers, said she sees little hope of resolving their differences.
Jack Lindquist, president of the liberal arts college, said the administration is "willing to negotiate."
Ryan said the contracts of laid off faculty members were violated when the school was forced to reorganize its finances last year. She said the union has not been allowed to participate in setting up new school policies.
Lindquist denied that, saying the union had been given a voice.
