COLLEGE GETS ENERGY STUDY GRANT

The Associated Press

PLAINFIELD -- Goddard College has received a $5000 grant from the Faulkner Trust of New York City for a design study on energy conservation measures in campus buildings.

School officials say the trust also has said it would grant an additional $10,000 toward energy conservation work on its Greatwood Campus if the college could match the grant.

In May, Goddard was awarded a $7750 grant from the state Department of Public Service toward a design study of Greatwood's 13 dormitories and five classroom and office buildings.

The project is estimated cost $65,000 and will take two years to complete.

Officials estimate the project will save the school $25,000 annually in heating costs.
