PLAINFIED -- Goddard College has opened its fall semester with more students, more money and additional faculty.
In addition, the college ended its fiscal year on Aug. 31 with a small surplus of operating funds for the second year in a row, a feat the college had not achieved since the early '70s.
Greg Dunkling, director of admissions for the 47-year old college, reported that a total of 269 full-time students registered during the semi-annual all-college meeting, a 7.6 percent increase over last semester and 19.2 increase over last year.
Dunkling said that some 60 students had signed up for the residential program and that the remaining 209 offcampus students were evenly divided between bachelor of arts students and master of arts candidates.
