GODDARD COLLEGE MAKING PAYROLL
PLAINFIELD -- Goddard College has resumed making its payroll, but is to lay off eight staff and faculty members by the end of the month, its president says.
"I think the mood on campus is mixed right now," said Beth Warrell, acting president of Goddard College. "It's very positive in terms of people receiving their paychecks and feeling relieved about that. But there are also concerns about what's happening with their jobs."
Warrell said it was hoped that aggressive fund raising, focus on bolstering admissions and building support of the of campus program would help the school's financial position.
