The Fourth Quadrant

For the purpose of classifying forms of social organization, one can map them onto a two-axis coordinate system that divides space into four quadrants, as follows:

Participatory democracies, which are designed to simultaneously optimize the 'autonomy' of the individual and the 'interdependence' of individuals, belong in quadrant four.
